Frequently Asked Questions

Please email senseofbeing@outlook.com if you have any other questions that you would like answered.

The phrase "Sense of Being" came from observing Henry while living in Costa Rica. While watching him I sensed he was in the moment, knew that he was alive. So I delved into what a Philosophical Concept of Being is.

In philosophy, “being” refers to the existence or reality of something. It is a fundamental concept in metaphysics, the branch of philosophy that explores the nature of reality. Here are a few key perspectives on being, which all fit in well with photography.

  • Aristotle: Aristotle explored the different senses of being, such as potentiality and actuality.

  • Heidegger: Heidegger focused on the question of being, exploring what it means for something to exist, distinguishing between different modes of being and emphasized the importance of understanding the fundamental nature of existence.

  • Ontology: Ontology is the philosophical study of being and it examines the basic structure of reality and the categories into which entities are divided, seeking to understand what it means for something to exist and how different entities relate to each other.

With photographs on this site, I hope to capture moments in reality.

It's not about money. It's not about ego, It's not about garnering "likes". It's about preserving and sharing "moments".

Facebook is a nice place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there. It is good at many things.  But bad at journalling, telling stories, building a photos album, etc.. Bad at many things actually. Websites, though they require more work, result in a better, more enjoyable, product.

Yes. I do not borrow or copy from anyone.

Many are, but then again, many are "as taken by the camera".
